Dr. Ahmad Aref Takiddeen Consultant Cardiologist with over 35 years of clinical and interventional experience. A graduate of the University of Damascus, he led major cardiology units in Syria and later trained in advanced cardiac CT in the USA, earning CBCCT certification. Since 2012, he has practiced in the UAE, co-founding the Emirates International Medical Centre in 2015, from 2021 he joined EHS as where he serves as consultant Cardiologistin Khorfakkan hospital.

Dr. Ahmed Sultan is a consultant Gastroenterologist and Head of Department at Mediclinic Airport road Hospital in Abu Dhabi, whose expertise includes liver and digestive disorders. He has extensive experience in performing general and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures include 3rd space endoscopy. Dr. Sultan completed his medical degree and residency at Mansoura University, Egypt, and was involved in multiple trials researching Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). In Egypt, he was also a lecturer at the faculty of Medicine of Mansoura, after which he moved to practice medicine in various hospitals in Abu Dhabi, he is also serving as adjunctive faculty of Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Alaaeldin Mohammed Khidir Bashier is a distinguished Consultant in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine with over 19 years of clinical experience. He currently practices at Dubai Hospital under the Dubai Health Authority, where he provides expert care in the management of complex endocrine and metabolic disorders, including diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, and hormonal imbalances. Dr. Bashier earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Gezira in Sudan. He went on to complete a Master of Science in Diabetes Practice from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom in 2012. In recognition of his contributions and expertise, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (FRCP UK) in 2014. As a researcher, Dr. Bashier has contributed significantly to the scientific literature on diabetes and endocrinology. His published works span real-world studies on the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), economic burdens associated with comorbid conditions, and clinical strategies for managing patients during Ramadan. His involvement in the INTENSIFY study, which explored the outcomes of fixed-ratio combinations of insulin therapies in UAE patients, has had a meaningful impact on diabetes management in the region. Dr. Bashier is also an advocate for evidence-based practice and regularly participates in regional and international medical conferences. He plays a key role in developing local clinical guidelines, particularly for managing diabetes during religious fasting, and is committed to advancing healthcare outcomes in the Middle East.

Dr. Amr Elfaramawy is a professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Cairo University, Egypt. His Clinical practice is concentrated on general Cardiology and specialized in invasive cardiology, doing complex coronary procedures, utilizing coronary imaging. Previously, he was the chief of cardiology department and director of cardiac catheterization laboratory at Aswan Heart Center, Magdi Yacoub Foundation. Currently, he is a consultant intervention cardiologist at Fujairah Hospital, Emirates Health Service, UAE.

Dr. Amrish Agrawal is Senior Consultant in Cardiology and Associate Professor at Fujairah Hospital, EHS, UAE He is board certified in cardiology from India, UK and Australia. He is an Elevated Fellow of Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow, Edinburgh as well as of American College of Cardiology. He is Invited Faculty and Speaker in numerous international meetings such as EuroEcho, World Congresses across the globe and ACC and ESC meetings. More than 20 publications in peer reviewed journals, author of chapters in many books of Heart failure and imaging and international member of Editorial boards. He is also a Principal investigator for many international registries at the Middle East and Global levels including i3, VICTORIAN, PACT MEA, FLOW, CEPHEUS, GARFIELD, etc.

Dr. Anass Qasem is a Consultant in Internal Medicine & Nephrology at Ibrahim Bin Hamad Obaidullah Hospital – RAK, an Assistant Professor in the same field at RAK Medical and Health Science University. Also an Assistant Professor for Internal medicine Department at Zagazig University. Dr. Qasem is also an active member of International Society of Nephrology/Renal Association Fellowship (London , UK), International Society of Nephrology (ISN), American Society of Nephrology (ASN), European Renal Association- European Dialysis and Transplantation Association (ERA-EDTA), British Transplantation Society (BTS), and Egyptian Society of Nephrology and Transplantation (ESNT).

Dr. Bahaa El din is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Nephrology, Kasr –El-Aini Hospital, and in King Fahd Nephro-urology unit, Cairo University also a Consultant of Internal Medicine and Nephrology at Al-Fujairah hospital. He is a recipient of execution award in the APMA (Asia/Pacific/ME) region in the field of CRM in 2018. Dr. Elamin Abdelgadir is a highly experienced endocrinologist with over 15 years of clinical practice and a strong academic background in diabetes and metabolic diseases. He currently serves as a Senior Specialist in Endocrinology at Dubai Hospital, where he has been a key figure in the Endocrinology Department since 2012. Dr. Abdelgadir earned his MBBS from the International University of Africa in Sudan and went on to complete his Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (UK) in 2010. He also received advanced training in endocrinology from Dundee University (UK) and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (USA). His clinical expertise spans the management of complex endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid diseases, and pituitary dysfunction. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Abdelgadir is an active researcher, contributing to regional and international studies on Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, Ramadan-related diabetes management, and endocrine complications of cancer therapies. Dr. Fatima Mohamed Alkaabi is a distinguished pediatric specialist with an Arab Board certification in pediatrics and membership in the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health (UK). She currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Director for Medical Affairs and Head of the Pediatric Department at Kalba Hospital, Emirates Health Services. In addition to her clinical and administrative roles, Dr. Alkaabi actively contributes to various hospital and national committees, participates in policy development, and monitors pediatric KPIs. She is a certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor and has led numerous training courses for healthcare professionals. Her leadership extends to public health education, with appearances in live TV programs and educational initiatives. Dr. Alkaabi was also a member of the EHS Youth Council (2021–2023) and has been a prominent f igure in national and international conferences as a speaker, chairperson, and participant. Dr Sabbour has over 29 years of clinical experience in all aspects of cardiology and extensive academic expertise starting from his training at Harvard Medical School (Massachusetts General Hospital) and Clinical Assistant Professorship at Brown University Warren Alpert School of Medicine in Rhode Island USA . He has been at the forefront of complex cardiac care in the UAE and is extensively published on multicentre cardiovascular research in the UAE, as well as guideline writing and implementation and advanced cardiovascular post graduate education. He has performed over 800 cardiac EP procedures including implantable devices and EP / ablations.

Dr. Jessica Sturgess is a consultant cardiologist with special interests in cardiovascular disease prevention, cardiometabolic disease, clinical lipidology, cardiovascular disease in women and athletes and cardiovascular imaging. Dr. Sturgess earned her medical degree at St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, USA, followed by residency at Rush University School of Medicine in Chicago, USA, Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, USA and advanced fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease Prevention at University of Missouri - Kansas City, USA. She is American board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Clinical Lipidology, Adult Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.

Mohamed Salah Osman has 31 years of rich and insightful experience. Dr. Osman has a Doctorate degree in Cardio-vascular Medicine. He renders consultancy on cardiology and conducts classes in various academic roles across diverse organizations. Over the years, he has actively contributed to extensive research in cardiology, with many international publications in different international journals. Dr. Mustafa Jamal Ahmed is a distinguished senior consultant nephrologist at the Imperial College Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi, one of the largest and most prestigious diabetes centers in the United Arab Emirates. With nearly two decades of experience practicing as a senior consultant in the UAE, Dr. Ahmed is renowned for his expertise in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cardio-metabolic kidney disease. Dr. Ahmed completed his medical training at King’s College in the United Kingdom, followed by specialized training in nephrology at the renowned Guy’s, King’s, and St. Thomas’ Hospitals in London. During his academic journey, he earned his MD under the mentorship of Sir Patrick Vallance, the former Chief Scientific Officer for the United Kingdom. Dr. Ahmed maintains close professional ties with the UK, reflecting his commitment to international collaboration and excellence in medicine. Dr. Ahmed has significantly contributed to the advancement of nephrology in the UAE. He performed the first kidney transplants at the Zayed Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi and the Al Qasmi Hospital in Sharjah, pioneering transplant services in the region. At the Imperial College Diabetes Centre, which recently joined forces with Diaverum, one of the region's largest renal dialysis groups, Dr. Ahmed is at the forefront of integrating diabetes and kidney care. His clinical interests include the early detection and prevention of kidney disease, with a particular focus on patients with type 2 diabetes. He has published influential papers on the prevalence and risks of renal complications associated with diabetes, contributing to the global body of knowledge in nephrology. Dr. Ahmed’s dedication to patient care, combined with his pioneering efforts in nephrology, have established him as a leader in his field and a key figure in advancing kidney health in the UAE and beyond.

Dr. Nadya Obaid Al Matrooshi, MD, is a Staff Physician in the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Prior to joining Cleveland clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Al Matrooshi was an advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant fellow at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Al Matrooshi received her medical degree from Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain. She completed her Masters Degree in leadership in health professions education, from the Royal College of Surgeons. Dr. Al Matrooshi is Arab board certified in internal medicine and general cardiology, and in ACGME-I accredited programs. She also holds board certification from the European College of Heart Failure. She is also a member of the Canadian Heart Failure Society and the Canadian Cardiovascular Society.

Noor Majed is a registered dietitian, member of Emirates Nutrition Association. She graduated from UAE University and earned a bachelor degree in Nutrition. She has earned the two certificates of training in adult weight management, medical nutrition therapy in critical care and she completed her dietetic internship at the Fujairah Hospital, where she subsequently worked as an clinical dietitian on intensive care unit ward.

Dr. Omer Ali joins Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC) with nearly 14 years of experience in renal medicine, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. With an extensive academic background, Dr. Ali first earned his Bachelor of Science degree from University College London, UK, in 2005. He then went on to complete his MBChB degree at Cardiff University, UK, in 2007. In 2011, he became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in London, UK, only to then obtain his CCT in Nephrology and General Internal Medicine from the same institution in 2018. He has worked at several prestigious institutions in the UK over the course of his professional career including Guy's and St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, London. Most recently, he was a consultant in nephrology as well as acute and general medicine at Barts Health NHS Trust, UK. His specialties include diabetic nephropathy, chronic kidney disease and acute kidney injury. He also has experience running a specialist diabetic kidney disease clinic and a transplant clinic. Being a skilled physician, Dr. Ali received the Barbara Ansell Prize from the Royal Society of Medicine in 2013 and was nominated for the clinical Teaching Excellence Award at King's College London in 2015. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. This title comes in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of diabetes and nephrology education. He has contributed to numerous publications over the years on a variety of topics including kidney disease and diabetes. His work has appeared in renowned publications such as The Lancet and the British Medical Journal, among others. He has also presented at key international conferences such as the Annual American Society of Nephrology meeting to actively participate in knowledge sharing with his peers.

Dr Sami Kenz is consultant endocrinologist and he trained in Manchester UK (North Western Deanery). He obtained his CCT-UK in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine, MRCP-Endocrinology, and FRCP-Edinburgh. He was a Consultant Endocrinologist in UK before moving to UAE in 2015. Dr Sami Kenz is currently working in Rashid Centre for Diabetes and Research, Ajman, UAE. He is Clinical Assistant Professor with University of Sharjah. Dr Kenz is a member of the Royal college of Physicians-UK, British Endocrine Society, Diabetes UK, and AACE-Gulf. Dr Sami Kenz has publications as main author or co-author in peer-reviewed journals. He is currently involved in few research projects in Rashid Centre for diabetes. His prime areas if interest are Medical weight management, managing type 1 and type 2 Diabetes and General Endocrinology.

Dr. Shadi Ahmed has an experience of more than 17 years in the field of Cardiology gained through working in high-volume prestigious medical institution formerly in Egypt then in KSA and currently in UAE MOHAP as a Cardiology specialist A. European board certified in adult Transthoracic ECHO Heart failure specialty certified by the Heart failure association of the European Society of Cardiology.

Dr. Shaikha Alhayayi is a highly experienced Family Medicine Consultant with over 18 years of clinical and leadership experience in primary healthcare. She is Arab Board Certified and holds the prestigious Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). Dr. Alhayayi earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, followed by a Diploma in Dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians. Her combined expertise in family medicine and dermatology allows her to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across a wide range of health conditions. Currently, Dr. Alhayayi serves as the medical lead of Murishid Health Center under Emirates Health Services (EHS) in Fujairah. In this role, she oversees service delivery, clinical quality, and innovation in primary care. She also runs a specialized clinic for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), contributing to the prevention and long-term management of chronic conditions in the community. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Alhayayi is an active member of several professional medical communities and serves as a faculty member in the Family Medicine Residency Program at EHS. Her dedication to mentoring young physicians and improving healthcare systems reflects her deep commitment to advancing family medicine in the UAE.

Dr. Tarik Salim currently a working consultant interventional cardiologist at Fujairah hospital. More than 15 years experience in the field of cardiology. Main interest is coronary intervention with huge experience in complex coronary in particular CTO operator, intracorobary imaging with OCT and IVUS, coronary invasive physiology and non invasive imaging. Previously a tutor and lecturer in the royal college of surgeons in Ireland. Big interest in research with multiple publications and contributor to multiple major clinical trials as a principle investigator. Expert speaker in national and international meetings and cardiac clubs. Have done more than 10,000 PCI and a small contribution towards structural interventions.

Dr. Khuziem, Graduated from Mosul medical college and received M.B.Ch.B , then started his training in Internal medicine fellowship and finished both Arab and Jordanian Boards of internal medicine in 2011 and after that joined Jordan University hospital and started fellow ship of cardiology and intervention as part of both Arab and Jordanian Boards of cardiology when he finished the training he received certificates of Arab and Jordanian Board of cardiology and intervention.Dr.Khuziem joined Fujairah hospital/UAE in 2017 and since then working as interventional cardiologist and currently he is the head of cardiology department. Dr.Khuziem interested in invasive coronary and peripheral interventions in addition to non invasive cardiac procedures.

Dr. Wael Abdul Hamed Refai is a Consultant in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Kalba Hospital, UAE. Dr. Wael Al Mahmeed, MD, is a Staff Physician within the Cardiovascular Medicine Department of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi’s Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Al Mahmeed served as Head of Cardiology at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Abu Dhabi. He was also the Deputy Chief Medical Officer during his time at SKMC. Dr. Al Mahmeed received his medical degree from the University of Southampton, Southampton, England. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and his fellowship in Cardiology and Echocardiography at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is also a fellow of The American College of Chest Physicians, The American College of Physicians, The American College of Cardiology, The European Society of Cardiology and The Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology.

Dr. Waleed Ezzat Nafee Farag is a Senior Cardiologist at Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi, with over 11 years of experience in cardiology. He previously served as Head of Cardiology at NMC Royal Hospital, Mohamed Bin Zayed City, and as the Cardiology Lead for NMC Medical Centers across the Abu Dhabi cluster.
